Danish research is now entering into one of the world’s leading alliances for research and development CITRIS which will open up for collaboration with international top researchers.
The Danish Ministry for Science and Technology has entered into a partnership agreement with the research network CITRIS (Center for Information Technology in the Interest of Society). The flagship is UC Berkley in California, which has been proclaimed as one of the world’s best universities, writes the news portal idag.dk.
The network will focus on IT, energy as well as nano and bio technologies and includes world-class research groups and some of Silicon Valley’s major IT companies.
- It is crucial for the quality of Danish research that it has direct access to international world-class networks. I therefore hope that the Danish universities will make use of this new stepping stone, says Minister for Science and Technology Helge Sander.
The agreement will be followed up by joint conferences and guest visits for Danish researchers in California.
Moreover, CITRIS has selected to hold its annual European conference in Copenhagen in June 2008 under the headline “Innovation in Climate and Energy”.
Previously the Ministry for Science and Technology has entered into similar partnership agreements with the research centre H-STAR at Stanford University and Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST).
