Public transport is well developed in Egedal. There are four train stations and trains depart for Copenhagen and Hillerød every ten minutes during the daytime. Between Hillerød and Roskilde there is a bus service every ten minutes. Copenhagen city centre, Hillerød and Roskilde are all within 25-45 minutes' travelling time. Districts within Egedal municipality are well connected by local bus services.

The local road network is also well developed. Main route no. 211 runs through Egedal from east to west and arterial road no. 6 runs from south to north. Both are major four-track roads that connect Egedal to the motorway system.
